INTERPRETATION

The oral translation of a spoken message from one language into another.
There are different types of interpreting services:
  • Liaison Interpreting
  • Consecutive Interpreting
  • Simultaneous Interpreting
  • Sworn Interpreting

Liaison Interpreting

The interpreter acts as a “liaison” between one or more people by translating each participant’s message into the other language at short intervals of one or more sentences.
This type of interpreting is used for business meetings, talks, trade shows, tours, etc.

Consecutive Translation

The interpreter uses a series of special techniques to note down what the speaker is saying, and then conveys the message to a large audience.
This type of interpreting is used for conferences, press conferences, seminars, etc.

Simultaneous Interpreting

Working inside a soundproof booth, the interpreter listens to the speaker through a set of headphones and conveys the message in real time to the members of the audience through individual wireless headsets.
This type of interpreting is used for congresses, conferences, television broadcasts, etc.

Sworn Interpreting

The sworn interpreter is appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is legally certified to provide interpreting services in legal proceedings, formal declarations before a notary public, official organisations, etc.
